Center of the Universe

Self-absorbed, self centered:

preoccupied with one’s own feelings, interests, or situation.

How can one be anything but. My eyes and my body, and my heart meet this world inside and from the vantage point of myself. It is the only experience I can truly and intimately know. It is  both fertile ground, and hard packed earth. This point: my own self-center; it is home.

To be selfless It is like standing on a mountain top looking out at the world, and having no idea what the ground under your feet looks like or feels like, or that maybe you have worn holes in your shoes, and you can’t feel the cuts on your face from the brambles you scrambles through getting up there while holding your breath with your eyes closed. It’s like looking out and seeing the beauty, and thinking it’s pretty, but having no idea how lovely and big it really is because you can’t feel your heart open up to take it all in.

Self-absorbed, this space, is about me learning to find that ground and to feel at home. You will find some bits I have picked up so far , and also in real time learning… Because that journey is never over. #workinprogress
